How many of you decided that February 1st would be your start to eating healthier in the new year, and that January was a free trial month? (insert hand raising emoji) Yup, that would be me! Not that I was eating horribly, but I'm trying to be more conscious about the food that is going into my body. I want to try in baby steps and this is my way of doing that! I LOVE making smoothies. I've loved them so much the past week that I've been making them twice a day for a meal. Now, I'm not a morning person so it's a rush for me to get ready and make a healthy breakfast without being late to work. This is my way of saving some time and getting out the door! I just made a 2 week batch of smoothie packs and thought I'd share just how easy it is to do. You can edit these any which way you'd like by adding different greens or fruits. Now enough chit chatting, let's get to the process! (:
Now, first things first. You need to have some good music playing. I'm loving "My favorite coffeehouse" playlist by Taygen Smith on Spotify. She has some really great easy going music on there (:
To start out this process, you need to have some quart size baggies and label them the date you fill them up. That way if they sit in the freezer for too long, you'll remember when you filled them up!
Once you've put the date on your bags, assemble your ingredients.
I started out with doing 1/2 cup oats.
I started out with doing 1/2 cup oats.
1/2 cup mixed berries
I took my spinach and rinsed it in a small cauldron
Then did 1/2 cup spinach
Next step, I added a couple slices of banana
Then, you seal them up and put em in the freezer! That easy!
When you are ready to make your smoothie, add some ice, almond milk, powder of choice (I like to use Attain form Melaleuca) and then any type of peanut butter or almond butter you like and BAM you got yourself a smoothie. I've seen that some people take almond milk and freeze it in those ice trays. I may just have to try that and then throw those in there. Anything to make it easy! (: Hope you guys are enjoying your Saturday! I'm about to get ready for my niece basketball game!
Let me know what your favorite smoothies are. I'm always up for trying new recipes!
